In early spring 1999 it became apparent that horses were needed for this carousel. Numerous friends and family members were enlisted to help watch for them at auctions, yard-sales, and etc. One horse was bought new but was discarded after horses with much more history and character were found.

THUNDER Rescued by a friend, Linda Helm, he was given a new look and a new life by our artist, Becky Hadley

CINDY Found in a yard-sale by Marshall and Linda Coffey, she has been the favorite of little girls since her first appearance

BLACK BEAUTY The day after Elvis had expressed a desire for a black horse. This horse was found peeping from the door of a consignment shop. He appeared most eager to assume the duty of riding the carousel

PRINCESS In early September Elvis was traveling on a Kentucky highway and noticed a yard sale with a beautiful horse just waiting to be purchased. He talked with a nice lady who priced the horse and he proceeded to tell her he was building a carousel and the horse would become part of it. At this point her mood changed and she decided not to sell him the horse. "I would like for some little child to have it," was her reason. Elvis left, called his wife who then purchased the horse. So both Elvis and the nice yard-sale lady will each get their wish. PRINCESS will be enjoyed not by just one small child, but by MANY.
